Which format needs what?
| Video type | What to prepare |
|---|---|
| Brand film or About Us video | A script or voiceover outline and a shot plan |
| Video sales letter | A full script, because every line has a job |
| Testimonial or case study | A list of open questions, no memorized lines |
| Podcast or interview | Three to five talking points and a topic |
| Corporate event | A schedule and a list of key moments |
What happens in pre-production?
Pre-production is where we plan the structure, the music and the key shots before the shoot. It reduces decisions on the day and keeps the video focused on its goal.
Why not read a script on camera?
Reading can sound stiff. For interviews, we ask open questions, one idea at a time, and coach people to answer in full sentences. For scripted work, we film in short sections so the delivery stays natural.

How IAVA Productions does it
Our Clarity & Credibility service includes script development. For interviews we prepare the question list with you, based on a seven-part story arc from introduction to advice. Either way, you review the plan before we film.
Tell us what the video is for and we will recommend a script, a question list or both.
Frequently asked questions
- Can you write the script for me?
- Yes. Script development is part of our brand film service.
- What if I have a script already?
- Bring it. We will review it for structure and length and plan the shoot around it.
- Do I need to memorize lines?
- No. For interviews, you answer questions. For scripted pieces, we film in short sections so the delivery stays natural.
- How long does pre-production take?
- It depends on the project. We agree the timeline with you before we start.
